Tourism Specialist Anna Rinteinen is a food tourism coach at Visit Finland Academy, an ambassador for the World Food Travel Association in Finland, and has over 27 years of experience in the tourism and restaurant industry.
In the webinar, Rinteinen presents key elements when it comes to clarifying regional food identities.
Gerrie du Rand, associate professor in the University of Pretoria, the WFTA Ambassador of South Africa, is internationally recognised as an academic researcher and expert in the field of Food and Hospitality related consumer behaviour. Her specialty area of interest is food travel and the use of local foods in culinary mapping.
In the webinar, du Rand presents the process of developing a framework for the culinary identity of South Africa.
Clang Garcia, the Philippine Ambassador of the World Food Travel Association, is a highly respected figure in the field of Philippine food travel as a researcher, author, TV host, trainer, and curator of gastronomic experiences; where her work centers on the intersection of generational dishes, culture, history, foodways, and community development, bringing unsung regional cuisines, traditional practices, and culinary custodians into the spotlight. Her book, Philippine Food Holidays, won the 29th Gourmand Awards for Best Food Tourism Book in the World.
In the webinar, Garcia will discuss clarifying the regional food tourism identity.
Passionate about local tourism, pedagogical engineering and culinary experiences, Elise Botiveau, the Founder and CEO of Béchamels, Advisory Services Agency specialized in Food Tourism and WFTA Ambassador for France, decided to change her life, after 20 years spent in IT. She created her company, Béchamels, which supports culinary companies in their development and transformation. Deeply committed, Elise ensures that her company fosters the development of local tourism, valuing craftspeople (“makers”) and facilitating access to employment of young people and women.
In the webinar, Botiveau will answer the question: How to make an effective Destination marketing strategy using your food regional identity?
